Project Summary: One trend that has emerged from recent years is the importance of building natural links, and no link is more natural than one placed in a news story. That’s why, in 2023, I started focusing on Digital PR as the best solution to link building. Even if the links were more difficult to guarantee, this approach to link building is crucial because it shifts your intention when creating and promoting content.
In an effort to start link building the correct way I spearheaded a number of Digital PR campaigns. One of these campaigns included an original research piece, which explored data about loneliness during the holidays.
The article was picked up by dozens of news outlets, and also syndicated across the internet. Because the piece took a holiday angle it especially appealed to journalists during the months of December and January.
What I Learned:
This project taught me invaluable lessons about the power of original research in driving successful link-building campaigns and the overall importance of a strategic, data-driven approach. By starting with original research, I learned how crucial it is to generate unique, valuable insights that not only attract attention but also establish authority within the industry.
This foundational work provided the content with a strong backbone, making it more appealing to both target audiences and industry professionals. It reinforced the idea that content built on fresh, data-backed research has a much higher potential to resonate and earn quality backlinks.
